The information gathered from this survey will inform the CFW as they develop their areas of focus for 2025-27. Your time is valuable, and your willingness to engage the CFW through this survey is appreciated.

The CFW was established by Fairfax City Council in 1984 to identify and address the needs of women in the City of Fairfax. This includes advising city officials on legislative and policy matters relating to women and advocating for programs to appropriately address their needs. The CFW is composed of nine members appointed by the mayor and city council. CFW meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month at Fairfax City Hall, room 316.
In the last 40 years, council-appointed CFW members have engaged in many advocacy, educational, and community service activities initiated to highlight issues important to women and girls, and in support of overall wellbeing.
In the last five years, the CFW has provided education and awareness on topics such as women's health, domestic and sexual violence, mental health awareness, public policy impacting women (ERA, Title IX, CEDAW, 19th Amendment, etc.) and area resources available to women.
The CFW facilitates annual events to commemorate Women's History Month and to celebrate women making a difference in the city through the Women of Influence Award.
The CFW's community service projects include feminine hygiene product drives, diaper drives, blanket drives for Afghan refugees, and donations to nonprofits serving women.
