The City of Fairfax Emergency Operations Plan is a comprehensive framework for managing major emergencies and disasters in the city. The plan frames incidents around community lifelines to create solutions that address root causes and better stabilize the impacts of an incident.
The plan was developed in coordination with all city agencies, as well as private, nonprofit, and volunteer organizations. The procedures, organization, and responsibilities outlined in the plan will save lives and protect property and infrastructure.
The Code of Virginia requires the city to conduct a comprehensive review of its emergency operations plan to ensure the plan remains current. City Council will formally adopt the revised plan.
Please review the plan and provide comments. The review period ends June 5, 2021.
