July 12 Open House Survey

The City of Fairfax is developing a concept for a shared use path on the west side of Chain Bridge Road between Assembly Drive and Northfax Street (formerly Orchard Street). The new path would connect the planned shared use paths north of Eaton Place (to be constructed with the Chain Bridge Rd/Eaton Pl intersection project) and south of Northfax Street (to be constructed with the Northfax West redevelopment). This would create a continuous bicycle and pedestrian facility along Chain Bridge Road as recommended in the Northfax Small Area Plan.

City Council will be asked to endorse an application for federal Transportation Alternatives (TA) funding at the September 12 City Council meeting. If the application is successful, funding would become available in 2024, with construction in 2025-2026.
