Robert E. Lee and all of the confederacy betrayed his/their oath & allegiance to the U. S. Constitution. They were "all traitors to their own COUNTRY" by committing TREASON against their own country (the USA). But even more than being Treasonous Traitors, Robert E. Lee and all of the treasonous traitors who accompanied him were "cowards" in the end because they flew the white flag as a sign of surrender/peace. My idea is that the mayor and the city council pass/enact an ordinance/law requiring any citizen who wishes to bear, wear or fly that Confederate flag to accompany the same with a white flag which will be indicative that the person who bears the Confederate flag has empathy and comes in peace. Moreover, by requiring a white to be flown simultaneously with the Confederate flag, ANYTIME IT IS FLOWN, that not only reflects the accuracy of history (in that Robert E. Lee did indeed wave a white flag of peace/surrender), by making that the official regulation of the Confederate flags usage, that will create National Discussion on the proprietary of displaying such a symbol of hate and treason. Change the racist and offensive street signs

Mosby Woods is a wonderful place to live because of its proximity to park land. Why not rename certain streets (Confederate, Reb, Plantation, and other references to the Confederacy) to celebrate our local VA parks and their flora and fauna? I was born and raised in FFX City, a lifelong Fairfax City resident that has lived on 6 different streets/neighborhoods in the city. The renaming of streets should not be taken lightly given the cost to taxpayers and the inconvenience to residents. There are a few names that are obviously offensive and should be renamed (Confederate, Reb, Plantation) but Ranger, Scarlet, Traveler? These are multiple meaning words, let's not waste taxpayer money. Nobody knew Mosby's horse's name until you told them. There are more important issues the council could be devoting their efforts to.

Fairfax City should proceed with changing the street names. Thank you for your work to make the city inclusive to all.
