The project has been completed.

May 3, 2024, UPDATE: The Grefe Drive drainage improvement project is complete. Grass seed has been planted in areas impacted by the project and should begin to regrow in the next few weeks.

The Grefe Drive drainage improvement project will add curb and gutter, driveway aprons, and storm sewer pipes and inlets to the north side of Grefe Drive and the Grefe Drive cul-de-sac.

These features will replace the existing roadside ditch and will connect to curb and gutter that was installed on the south side of Grefe Drive with the Stonewood development project in 2021. The entirety of Grefe Drive, from Burke Station Road to the cul-de-sac, will have curb and gutter and driveway aprons when this project is completed.

The new storm structures installed with this project will capture runoff from Burke Station Road and prevent it from impacting private properties at the northwest corner of the intersection of Grefe Drive and Burke Station Road. The project will also provide drainage improvements to a low area near the road on Grefe Drive. After the stormwater utilities and curb and gutter are installed, the street and cul-de-sac will be repaved.

This project is supported by the Stormwater Utility Fund. The city has awarded a contract to Sagres Construction to complete the project. Survey work will begin on or about Feb. 1, and construction will begin around Feb. 12. Working hours will be within the city’s noise ordinance from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Small sections of street parking may need to be temporarily closed in the project area. All work is expected to be completed by summer.
