Fall Festival

Join the project team at the city's annual Fall Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 12, 2024, in historic Old Town Fairfax. City staff will be available to answer questions, share informational materials, and collect feedback on the Urban Forest Master Plan.

Back to School Nights

The City of Fairfax’s urban forestry team will be at back-to-school night to share the latest updates on the Urban Forest Master Plan and to promote other forestry initiatives happening this fall in the city. Stop by to learn about this year’s Arbor Day celebration, how to plant trees at home this fall, upcoming ways to participate in the city’s Urban Forest Master Plan process, and more!

Fairfax City is developing the city’s first urban forest master plan – and we need your help! The plan will address growing challenges and threats to the urban forest over the next 20 years, such as increasing development, climate change, and invasive species.

The open house session will provide time in the beginning to browse exhibits and talk with the Project Team. There will also be a brief presentation and Q&A session. Attendees will have the option to attend in-person or virtually.
