Public Meeting #2 will be a visioning session where attendees will discuss challenges, opportunities, and community involvement. Takeaways from this meeting will shape the UFMP’s goals and recommendations.

To engage as many people as possible, Public Meeting #2 will have an in-person session and a virtual session on separate days; these meetings will cover the same information and activities. 

The meetings will start with a brief welcome presentation, followed by “stations” where attendees will discuss the urban forest’s challenges, opportunities, and their experiences as members of Fairfax’s community. The stations will also include interactive mapping and voting activities. The meetings will wrap up with a summary of takeaways from the stations.

Fairfax City is developing the city’s first urban forest master plan – and we need your help! The plan will address growing challenges and threats to the urban forest over the next 20 years, such as increasing development, climate change, and invasive species.

The open house session will provide time in the beginning to browse exhibits and talk with the Project Team. There will also be a brief presentation and Q&A session. Attendees will have the option to attend in-person or virtually.
